The Marsolle family arrived in Guadeloupe with the first French colonists, and established a sugar-producing operation in 1700. Tours are available of this working distillery, which still has its original water wheel. A small train takes visitors around the estate to a tropical garden, a canal, and a “ouassous” (freshwater prawn) hatchery. Tastings and sale of products produced on the estate.
